Going Missing is NOT a Crime!
People
go missing for all sorts of reasons. There may be family conflict,
mental ill-health (including depression or anxiety), financial
difficulties or many other reasons why someone might think "I want
to get away from everyone and everything", or, "I just want to start
a whole new life".
However,
family and friends, while you might think they don't care, may be
concerned about your welfare and safety. And, as you may have read
elsewhere on this site, the trauma of worrying about someone who has
disappeared, and not knowing whether they are safe is a terrifying
experience. Think how you would feel if someone you knew and loved
went missing and you were worried for their safety.
You
don't have to tell them where you are. You don't even have to make
contact with them, if you don't want to. What you can do, is visit
your local police station. The police will keep your whereabouts
confidential if that is your wish and you are 'of age'.
Jamaican
Missing Persons, and the Police respect your privacy, and won't tell
anyone where you are unless you give permission.
Please
make contact. We care about you, your safety, your family and your
friends.
